Newton Mearns Parish Church hosts two Guide Companies – the 2nd and 3rd Mearns.  They are the largest organisation in the world and are still going strong with traditional and modern values.

These companies meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30 – 9.30pm. 

What’s on offer at Newton Mearns Parish Church Guides? The guides play games, they work towards earning badges of many kinds. (They practise first aid.)

They go out on visits: for example to the Ten Pin Bowling and to the Fire Station. They have speakers who come along and talk to them. Sometimes, they go to camps. Most important of all – Girl Guides have fun!

Many girls go on to be Ranger Guides when they leave Guides and some of these girls have gone on to become Queen’s Guides.

They are always on the lookout for new members/leaders/helpers to join in the fun!  This year is Girlguiding Centenary Year so there will be lots to celebrate.
